Talana Trail

Walk to the top of Talana Hill

A walking trail from the museum up Talana hill. The trail follows part of the historical trail up to the plateau. From here you follow the plateau and return to the museum and then continue around the perimeter of the museum. Currently 2,3km. Ideal for a Saturday morning walk with your dogs.

The trail is marked and there are some information boards explaining what happened at certain positions along the trail that relate to the battle of Talana. An extension to the trail will be completed within the next 2 months that will take in the route to the top of the hill, the British fort and war memorial.

A season ticket is available for persons who wish to use the trail regularly. All walkers are required to complete the trail register at the start and completion of the walk. The trail is open from 7.30 in the morning until 5pm daily.
