Gandhi Walk
7 August
A 5km walk that begins and ends in the grounds of the Talana Museum commemorates the involvement of Mahatma Gandhi in our area and in South Africa.

Ghost Walk
20 Oct 
On the anniversary of the Battle of Talana a guided walk up Talana hill follows in the footsteps of the British troops.
Starts in the museum cemetery at 17:30. Follow the guide up Talana hill along the route of the British advance, listen to the tales, wait for the ghosts and enjoy your traditional bully beef sandwiches and sherry on the top of the hill.
Cost R40 per person.


Creations 2010

Annual Arts and Crafts show and sale showcasing quality hand made products. Unique handmade items direct from the craftsperson to you.

Christmas In Africa
3 Dec – 2 Jan 2011
Extravaganza of Christmas lights throughout the grounds of Talana Museum. Museum grounds open until 9pm daily. Bring an evening picnic and enjoy the lights with family and friends.
Period decorated Christmas trees in certain museum exhibits. Different themed trees inside museum displays each year.

Music At the Museum
3 December
An open air music programme from 18:30 – 20:00 and the switching on of the Christmas Lights.
Bring you family, friends, picnic basket and enjoy a wonderful evening of music and Christmas lights.
Food stalls will be available.
